Supervision
Do you want honest, supportive supervision that accepts you as you are and helps you to grow and challenge yourself?
I am passionate about counselling and am constantly inspired by the learning that I gain from it, about myself, others and how we are in relationships. I thoroughly enjoyed my supervision training and it has taught me that transparency and congruence are important qualities for me in the supervisory relationship.
I work from a person centred perspective and my views on therapy align with this modality. I am currently studying to become a certified emotionally focused therapist. This modality is based on person-centred and attachment theory. In pursuit of this I am working with couples and other configurations of relationship.
I work from a non-pathologising perspective believing that the labelling of distress, although helpful for some, it can also be harmful and de-humanising. I am passionate about social justice, feminism and equality.
I have a background as a paramedic and in social care and have always been drawn to work with marginalised groups, people who experience stigma and struggle to be accepted. I have over 1650 of hours of counselling experience, gained in a college setting with students and in private practice.
I can offer supervision in-person from Haymarket, Edinburgh. I also offer online.
